Earthenware Pottery is made with earthenware clay. The clay is
a low-fire body and I fire it to around 1875° Farenheit (Cone
05) in an electric kiln. The clay body can be white or red
caused by high iron content.
I prefer white since it provides a nice clean background for
colorful possibilites. I love the use of color and use it to
give the piece
a sense of joy and playfulness. Though each piece is highly
decorated and are often purchased for their decorative appeal,
they are
functional and meant to be used.
